Casting Plugs
For John McEwen - Hillsdale, Ontario
John McEwen is a local artist who typically produces cast or welded metal sculptures. Foam or MDF plugs are produced either as the final casting blank or as a base for John to build clay on top. By generating the shapes in the computer, the artist is able to tweak the placement, size, and shape of the sculpture. Shapes are then transferred to a CNC router to produce the finished plug.
